Mandatory Work Activity
Over the course of 4 weeks, customers claiming Job seekers Allowance will be given the chance to gain recent work experience required by today’s employers by carrying out a range of placement activities which are designed to be of benefit to the community.

Individuals in receipt of JSA.
What does it cover?
Every work placement will offer the jobseeker the opportunity to gain fundamental work disciplines and will be of benefit to the local community. Participants will spend up to 30 hours a week, for four weeks, on their Work Activity placement and will gain a range of skills that will better equip them to return to work.
Work Activity will consist of a range of activities that provide benefit to the local community. Examples may consist of such activities as maintenance work for housing residents, renovating and recycling old furniture, working in a local sports club or supporting charitable organisations.
