New Deal
This programme aims to help people into sustained employment and provides a variety of individually tailored advice, training and support.
Who is it for?
New Deal is a key element of the Government's Welfare to Work strategy. It aims to give unemployed people new opportunities to study, train and gain work experience so that they have skills that employers want and are able to find lasting, worthwhile jobs. At the same time it is supporting our employers. Employers may be entitled to a subsidy towards a person's weekly wage.
What does it cover?
Key features of this programme are individual and group training, information advice and guidance, work related qualifications, job preparation training and job matching into a wide range of vacancies. In addition to all the support and training we provide in our centres, customers also benefit from gaining practical skills in a work placement with real employers.
Where is it held?
The programme is held in locations all over West Yorkshire. A list of BEST locations is available.
